La Bakerie sits on Wanstead High Street with the kitchen right there behind the counter, so the bread, pastries and cakes are created, cooked and baked from fresh ingredients on-site each day.

It is the kind of place people fold into their week: a warm loaf on the way home, a flat white and an almond croissant, a quiche for lunch, a cake ordered for the weekend. Spacious inside, with a genuinely lovely welcome.

What are your opening hours?
We are open seven days a week, 7:30am to 5:30pm, Monday through Sunday. The pill at the top of the page shows live whether we are open right now.
Do you bake everything on-site?
Yes. La Bakerie is a micro-bakery, so the bread, pastries and cakes are created, cooked or baked from fresh ingredients right here through the day. That is why the counter changes as the morning goes on.
Can I order a celebration cake?
We make cakes to order for birthdays and parties, from a raspberry cheesecake to a pear and almond flan as a centrepiece. Email us or call the shop with what you have in mind and when you need it.
Do you serve brunch and lunch, or just bakery?
Both. Alongside the bread and pastries there is a café menu: smoked salmon and poached egg on sourdough, quiche with salad, croque monsieur, soup, sandwiches and salads, plus locally roasted coffee and hot chocolate.

Can I sit in, or is it takeaway?
